The selection of topics, eminent speakers, beutiful venue with delicious lunch was appreciated by delegates attending in large numbers. Total 373 registration and attendance of 286 delegates proved the success of CME. In view of high turmoil and predicament among our medical fraternity in dealing medicolegal issues, IMA Kalyan thought on taking an initiative with the hope to clear all fears with rationale and astute and organised CME on 16th June Dr Hajir ho at solitare banquet. Eminent speaker Dr Ashok Shukla guided on importance of documentation in Medical Practice with day to day experiences.
The lecture on tobacco related cancers by Dr Pushpak Chirmade was an initiative as a antitobbacco campaign in reference to recent World No tobacco day on 31st May Dr Hitesh Bhatt kept engrossed audience with his lecture along with appropriate humorous slides on burning issue about Problems and Solutions for violence against doctors. Senior and esteemed Dr Gopinath Shenoy mesmerized delegates with his profound knowledge and humbleness about how to defend yourself in consumer cases.
Post tea session, Dr Chandrashekhar Sohoni and Dr Ashok Shukla had delivered important talk on PCPNDT and MTP:POCSO act with preventive measures respectively. Post lunch session, important topics like Compliance/Certification in Medical Practice was about rules, regulation and laws related to healthcare practices by Dr Vivek Tilwani.
It was followed by felicitation of Dr Mrs Sita Tilwani for scripting a handbook of medicolegal aspects of sexual assault "The Road Ahead" which is accepted by Government of India as a guideline. IMA KALYAN gave platform to Mrs Shashi Shetty who works for Indian Development Foundation for children through project Ashayen to raise fund for this noble cause. CME had grand end with two important topics, Acid peptic disorder Management and When Dr faces criminals charges by Dr Rakesh Patel and Adv Jayant Jaibhave respectively. One more feather is added in the cap of IMA KALYAN by organising this unique CME.
Dr. Snehaletha Kuris was the Organizing Chairperson and Dr. Smita Mahajan was the Organising Secretary. It was attended by 890 delegates, although 948 MBBS Doctors had registered for it. Very useful day to day practical topics for practitioners were discussed and newer regimes and techniques were imparted as knowledge update for the delegates. Some of the topics were Rational Use of Antibiotics, Headache, Management of Borderline Hypertension, Hormone testing and when to repeat the testing, Erectile Dysfunction, Endocrinological pediatric Problems, Improving Outcomes in Oncology, Stress Urinary Incontinence etc.
All the speakers were MMC accredited with very good ability to disperse the knowledge in a simple and clear manner. Some of the speakers were Dr. Meenesh Juvekar, Dr. Nandkishor Kabra, Dr. Nitin Karnik, Dr. Anita Mathew, Dr. Archana Juneja, Dr. Ravi Ramakanthan, Dr Ajit Virkud,Dr. Hitesh Bhatt, Dr. Shripad Bodas, Dr. Deepak Sanghavi, Dr. Jagannath Dixit, Dr. Deepak Gupte, etc.
There was a session for hospital staff in Hall B for ‘CPR and Peri-operative nursing care’ which was attended by 230 hospital staff. The Conference was inaugurated by Dr. Anil D’Cruz, `Head of Tata Memorial Hospital on 2nd December at 11 a.m. Dr. Narendra Pathak was honoured with LIFETIME Achievement award for his sincere, regular and selfless service to the activities of IMA Kalyan.
This year the public awareness programme of the conference LIFESTYLE was held on 1st December from 6 p.m.to 9 pm . The name of the event was MANINI- UTSAV STREETVACHA which was attended by 1000 ladies from Kalyan and its surrounding areas. It was an edutainment programme where the famous Marathi Actress Mrinal Kulkarni was the Chief Guest and the Deputy Mayor of Kalyan Mrs. Upeksha Bhoir was the Guest of Honour. Good educational skits, health talks with Panel discussion about Women’s health from Girl Child to Menopause was covered, in Marathi by practising Gynecologists from Kalyan .
Each and every lady who attended this social programme was also given snacks and cold drinks at the end of the event. All the delegates and the general public thanked the President of IMA Kalyan Dr Pradipkumar Sangle and the Secretary Dr Prashant Patil for the wonderful iMAKON conference and public awareness programme.
Under the exempleny guidance of the IMA secretary Dr. Prashant Patil & our IMA President Dr. Pradip Sangle, team IMA had organized Doctor's day celebration. Meritorious children & doctors were felicitated, followed by the memorable appreciation of our veteran IMA member Dr. Pradeep Baliga for his outstanding contribution to yearly blood donation camps. This year IMA Kalyan proudly gathered a monumental figure of 200 bags in this blood donation drive, which was widely appreciated by the IMA headquarters.
IMA Katta is one of the novel initiatives taken up by the working committee of IMA Kalyan 2018-19. With the aim of addressing the non academic front in a totally different way, IMA katta is already created an avenue for doctors for an informal gathering. The exchange of views which happened in the first two installments of IMA Kalyan threw light on some very important topics like financial security and spirituality followed by this two novel events one for plant decoration and the musical program involving Mr. Mandan Soman sir was very well appreciated. This brainchild of Dr. Prashant Khatale with the enthuasitive participations of interested IMA members turned out be an eagerly awaited event with people waiting for the next Katta.
The first CME organized by the working committee of IMA Kalyan 2018-19 was very distinguishable due the absolute presence of its native speakers of Kalyan, Targeting the common problems in the pediatric and adult population with a stress on common clinical scenarios. IMA Kalyan amassed more than 200 registrations for this CME. All the lectures were very well appreciated by the attendess and were a huge boost to the novice speaker.
Harmony 2018 was already riding high on a huge laurels achieved by its harmony 2017. Harmony 2018 definitely delivered more than what was expected out of it and just turned out to be absolute head turner events of IMA kalyan. The event was marked with some outstanding performances by the doctors of IMA Kalyan not just in categories of singing, dancing and bollywood quiz but also mimicry and instrument playing. IMA Kalyan was fortunate that the event was graced by the Kind presence of Celebrity Tv artist Dr.Sanket Bhosale. Our eminent singing judges Dr. Prashant Suvarna, Dr. Mandar Korane and the famous bollywood choreographer Mr. Amol Tumne. With the able support and guidance of President Dr. Pradeep Sangle, secretary Dr. Prashant Patil, this task leaders Dr. Anjum Syed, Dr. Sumit Shrivastava and Dr. Manjusha Shrivastava did put in outstanding efforts for Harmony 2018
In line with all the successful events planned by the IMA Kalyan 2018-19 working committee carved this unique CME on 17th February 2019 having absolute academic feast admired with some clear sighted messages on the non academic front as well. The think tank of IMA Kalyan has arranged the stalwarts in their respective fields as speaker for the CME. Touted with as the first grand CME of IMA Kalyan conducted at auditorium of C.C Gandhi School, it is has been huge success in the circle of IMA Kalyan. The distinctive efforts of the task leader Dr. Sonali Patil are already evident.
