It gives me immense pleasure to communicate with you all. Indian Medical Association, Kalyan has scaled new heights and standards by the efforts of all the IMA members and I feel proud to say that we at IMA Kalyan have got tremendous ability and great team to work as noticed in all our annual conferences and other activities as well. Our website www.imakalyan.in is evolving as a dynamic, vibrant and most user friendly website now.
We had a very unique 2 credit hours CME entirely by our own IMA Kalyan faculties very successfully in June 2018. We also had grand celebration of Doctors Day with felicitation of meritorious students and new members and collected record breaking blood bags this year for the society. Our Doctors Katta is a very unique and useful periodic gathering of members on non academic but on various topics which is beneficial to our members in day to day life. The generosity of IMA Kalyan was seen in donating very handsome amount to Kerala flood distress relief fund. Team IMA Kalyan 18-19 successfully conducted stress management interactive sessions for XII STD. students of Birla college . IMA Kalyan this year for the first time conducted Ganesh Utsav Spardha very actively to connect with the society and Cash Prizes were awarded to the best Ganesh Pandals in Kalyan.
Our cultural programme Harmony 18 which is a melodious event comprising of songs, dance, skits, mimicry, Bollywood quiz was well planned by our Harmony organising team and was a huge success. IMA Kalyan organised camp under the name Mission Pink Health - a health camp for adolescent school girls were the general check up of school girls was undertaken and Iron and Multivitamins were distributed free of cost . A National tour to Andaman and Nicobar Islands to visit Cellular Jail etc in the memory of Swatantryavir Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was held by the members in November 2018.IMA Kalyan and Kalyan Runners Group arranged marathon run - IMATHON for 3km, 5km, 10km for members and public - with theme RUN TO SAVE LIFE - on 25/11/18 which was greatly appreciated by the Society.
iMAKON 18 our most prestigious and mega conference of IMA Kalyan with this year's theme QUEST FOR WISDOM was held on 1st and 2nd December 18 with a huge response of over 900 doctors .
Keeping the health and fitness in mind of our members the IMA- KHELO event was organized on 19th and 20th January under the able leadership of Dr Rajesh Raju. Carroms, Badminton, Box Cricket, Table Tennis, Sprints, Tug of War etc. and fun games were played in a good competitive spirit. All appreciated this new step for health and fitness. The final CME of this team with theme HEALTHY DOCTOR... WEALTHY DOCTOR was held at KC Gandhi School auditorium on 17th February with resounding success. It was lead by Dr Sonali Patil and her team, where the health issues and financial aspects for doctors in today's busy life were highlighted.
Team IMA Kalyan is working very hard on various aspects, but it is all worthless without YOUR wholehearted support & participation.

Dear Colleagues
Thank you very much for the confidence and trust bestowed upon me to have selected me as the Secretary of IMA Kalyan. It is a great honor and indeed a great pleasure for me to have the opportunity to work for the better future of our medical association and fraternity. Our patrons and past office bearers have worked tremendously for last 26 years. They have laid the foundation for us to work for future in achieving our dream goals Our team of IMA Kalyan 18-19 has promised to solve all pending issues of the association. The first issue in the bucket list is to get our IMA hall, majority of the hall work is done and in coming months we will be shifting in our new premises.
Our next emphasis will be on making our association legally strong for this, we appointed Mr. Vivek Biwalkar (a senior high court lawyer) on honorarium basis. The legal help is extended to all our members also. Our final emphasis is to complete all office work relating with the Charity commissioner regarding trust Certificate,renewals, etc. We are very happy to share that our constitution is revised with lots of new amendments . We have appointed a new CA for better control of our accounts . Our New CA Deepak Darji is going to take care of all accounts with help from our new trustees who take care of our property. I feel proud to say our team has followed our slogan for this year "let's connect with each other". Our team had organised a one-day CME on 17th June 2018 where our local paediatric surgeous & physicians shared the platform to teach our clinicians about basics and latest medical updates. We celebrated 1st July 2018 as Doctor's Day. Our team had organised a Blood Donation Camp in collabration with Arpan blood bank and donated 210 blood bottles to Rukhminibai Hospital of Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation. Print Media gave an excellent coverage for this work. To improve doctor society relation we started "Ganesh Darshan Spardha" in month of September, 138 Ganpati mandals from Kalyan East and West participated. Winners were declared and prize distribution was held on during the IMA KHELO event
Another social event iMATHON'18, a health run, was organised on 25th Nov 18. About 1000 runners have participated in this event. The funds generated from this event were donated to old age homes in Badlapur. Also, iMAKON'18 (Festival of IMA Kalyan) was held on 1st & 2nd December 18 and I congratulate Dr.Snehalatha Kuris and the entire team for a grand success.
IMA- KHELO event was organized on 19th and 20th January 19 under the able leadership of Dr Rajesh Raju. As I said, we want to connect with each member of IMA Kalyan for this year and we want to build strong relation with our society and various social and goverment organisation. My vision is to take IMA Kalyan to such an respectable height from where society should salute to IMA Kalyan's achievements. I want to bring back the faith in society regarding medical fraternity. Our aim to curb malpractices in medical fraternity practiced by 10% of doctors which is affecting the good work done by 90% of noble doctors. Our aim is to give total protection to our members legally. IMA Kalyan has completed 27 years sucessfully only because of active office bearers for years and 100% participation of each member. We have 480 members and soon we will be crossing magic number of 500. As a secretary, I can only assure you that I live IMA and I breaths IMA ......Dil se!!!
